Decades later, as her life seemed to be falling apart, Szymczak started pulling cards for herself in an effort to reconnect with her intuition. “I remembered, ‘Oh, this is something I used to feel really good about and felt I was really connected into my inner knowing.'”  Szymczak then hosted a few close friends for private sessions, which quickly took off. “I was, like: ‘Whoa, I didn’t know I could get paid to do this,'” she said. These days, she has income from various tarot-related sources. In 2021, she launched her Hex and the City podcast. On it, she gives guests and listeners readings from her signature deck, “Badass Bitches Tarot,” which she sells for $40. |
